Another year has ended and with it has come to an end an array of events. 2007 saw lots things happenings in all the spheres, various landmarks being achieved alongwith ups and downs for the country. Be it in sports, politics, business, health or the legal arena, each of it stayed abuzz with activities throughout the year. By far the biggest achievement for the country this year was the victory in the first ever Twenty20 World Cup. India won the championship beating arch rivals Pakistan and also the Australians. The year was a big one for sports as India registered thumping wins in hockey, football and other sports. One issue which stayed in the headlines throughout the year was the Nuke Deal or the 123 agreement and also the Hyde act. Besides, India also made its presence felt at the international stage when RK Pachauri, Chairman of the International Panel on Climate change (IPCC) received the Nobel Peace prize (he shared it with Al Gore).
