Train runs over four of family in Chennai |

| Chennai: Four members of a family including a woman were killed when a train ran over them in a southern suburb in Chennai today, fire services personnel said. "The family was trying to cross the railway lines despite the level crossing being closed. They did not notice the oncoming train and were run over," N Ilanthirayan, an eyewitness said.
The bodies were sent for post mortem to a local hospital, police sources said. The suburbs of Chennai still have a few level-crossings where pedestrians and two-wheeler riders dash across ignoring closed gates leading to accidents. According to official statistics, at least 25 lives have been lost in similar accidents in the last eight months. (IANS)
