The developmental projects, which have been undertaken in last few years for the preparation of Beijing Olympics is like a hump of the road for the Chinese economy. Massive investments have been done on real estate, manpower, technical know-how by the government. Indian companies will be responsible from safe landing at airports to the minutest things in getting the everything related to Beijing Olympics go smooth. Well known Indian plastic hardware manufacturer Sintex Industies in collaboration with Polyjohn (UK based toiletries) will be supplying three thousand portable toilets which can be fixed or unfixed in less than an hour. The factory is set up near Allahabad. To top it all, a Pune-based company is making the roving boats and canoes, water sports equipments, Kayaks to be supplied from India.
Important exports from India to China include cotton, organic chemicals, iron, steel and inorganic chemicals among others. India's exports to China has increased many folds in 2000-01 to $ 8290.7 million (accounting for 6.56 per cent of total exports) in 2006-07. The growth continued in 2007-08, with exports to China growing to $ 3783.9 million during April-September (period for which confirmed data is available).
According to the statistics available with us, about 4.4 millions spectators will be visiting Beijing for the olympic games which would bring a huge bonanza for tourism industry of China and India, being on just the other side of the border, might benefit from such a voluminous inflow to its northern neighbour.
