Assam theatre overwhelms Nina and Rajendra

Guwahati: On their visit to Assam, well known film and TV actors Nina Gupta and Rajendra Gupta set the stage on fire with their sensual acting in the play "Surya ki Antim Kiran Se, Surya ki Pehli Kiran Tak", directed by Rajendra Gupta during the week long Natasurya Drama Festival. The actor were elated by the overwhelming response from the play lovers and the audience during the festival.

The hit duo made their appearance in the drama to mesmerise the audiences with their performance and being applauded highly. The drama was performed as a part of the annual festival. "We performed a local drama last night and have also heard about the famous mobile theatres of the state which is still in existence for a long period of time in the state. It only reflects the society from where it evolves and tell the story that art has always been worshiped in the land of Assam. Its always been pleasure to be a part of this community", said Nina and Rajendra in same tune.

Nina also expressed that the Organisers like Assam Cultural Affairs is doing a fantastic job of providing a space for arts by organising these kinds of drama festival. "Assamese drama has been always appreciated across the world and we have also heard about it from our colleagues who visited here. These festivals plays a very important role in improving the relations between Mumbai and Assam acting industry. The Indian film industry's first glamour hero Pramathesh Barua was from this land and it continues to give good actors and talents till today," Nina told.

Nina and Rajendra also visited a local drama school to teach a few tips to the local artist and shared their views with them. "They are fantastic and we learnt a lot from them, they are very helpful and guided us in our steps and skills," said a jubilant student Debojit Borthakur from Seagull, a drama School.

The actress made reference to the Assam film industry, which is in a dilapidated state due to video piracy, and said the industry has the potential to revive and it only need dedication and hard work.

Both the actor also spend good time with the people of Assam and got overwhelmed by the attention they got from the localities. "We are overwhelmed on the hospitality of this land. The play is a medium to connect the people and deliver a message, but here in Assam we got the most identifying message of love from the people of the state. Here we realised that drama is appreciated and public throng into it," expressed Nina and Rajendra in chorus.
