Kumartuli ParkDesigned with a very unique concept in mind, Kumartuli Park pandal is sure an eye-catcher. The theme being “Durge-Durgatinashini” means “Durgatinashini (Durga) in a castle”. The castle here represents the castle of the Asura, where Durga enters to kill the demon. The pandal has an image of ten forms of Durga, sculpted out of a rock. This image stands in the middle of water. The whole concept has a symbolic meaning. Water, which was once considered to be life, is now becoming a source of destruction for humankind, with all the floods, typhoon and Tsunami taking away millions of lives. In this pandal, Durga is depicted fighting against the demon to save a piece of land from getting destructed by water.
