Sri Lanka, on the other hand, high on confidence after tremendous victory over Indians in Asia cup, is looking forward to maintain its track record against the neighbors on home ground. Skipper Mahela Jayawardhane feels playing against India is always a big challenge for the side. He made his test debut against India in 1997 and has a consistent career so far. He asserts every time India and Srilanka played together, spectators have witnessed good cricket as both sides have quality players.

India has toured Sri Lanka four times and except in 1993, they have been badly crushed.
