Mohammad Atif Ameen: Mastermind of Delhi blasts
New Delhi: With the killing of Mohammad Atif Ameen during the encounter took place on Friday in Jamia Nagar locality of south Delhi, the Special Cell of Delhi Police claimed to have neutralised the module of terrorist outfit Indian Mujahideen.

The module, which had been involved in almost all blasts took place in recent past including Samjhauta Express, Malegaon in Mumbai, Mecca Masjid at Hyderabad, Ajmer Sharif, Uttar Pradesh Court blast, Varanasi, Gorakhpur , Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Delhi. Police shot dead Atif seven days after the serial blasts rocked the Capital and arrested two of his colleague from the hide-out.

The Special Cell today claimed that it had enough evidence against Atif to establish his involvements in all the blasts occurred across the country. "With the recovery of two laptops on Friday after the encounter, police were able to retrieved the video clippings of cluster of bombs, which they later planted in Ahmedabad and Surat. They even shot the video of two stolen cars (Maruti -800 and Wagon R) that was used during Ahmedabad blast. We also have the pictures taken just after the Varanasi blast," informed a senior police officer of Special Cell

Police have been claiming that Indian Mujahideen, the name widely quoted after several blasts, is a divided section of notorious students' organisation SIMI. Abu Bashar and Tauqeer were operating under SIMI while Mohd Atif was the leader of Indian Mujahideen, said the officer.

He also pointed out towards the mischievous efforts from other side of the border to disturb the internal stability of India. "Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) has been behind the terrorist activities in India. It has earned a bad name at the international forum, so it decided to back Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and backing SIMI and Indian Mujahideen. IM is also closely associated with HuJI."
