New Delhi: Seventy-two hours after the serial bomb blasts in the Capital on Saturday, Delhi Police today released fives sketches of three suspected terrorists allegedly involved in the blasts. The sketches were drawn based on the statements of eyewitnesses.
More importantly, two out of the five portraits were sketched on the directions of 11-years-old balloon seller Rahul, Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat told
Headlines India exclusively. The brave boy declined one of the terrorist's request to dump a plastic bag containing explosives in a dustbin near India Gate.
According to the eyewitness, the suspected terrorist involved in the Gaffer market blast was wearing a cream-coloured shirt and trouser and was also sporting a monkey cap. However, rest of the four sketches are of the two terrorists, spotted at Barakhamba Road area. According to police, the two terrorists were sporting grey-coloured kurta-pyjamas. According to the eyewitness' statements made to the police, the terrorists were fair in complexion and their hair-styles were similar to what appears in the portraits drawn. They were between the age group of 23 and 24 years.
Meanwhile, appealing before citizens to cooperate in the investigations, ACP Rajan Bhagat said, "We appeal to the public to help us identify these terrorists through dialing our helpline number 1090." "We assure that the caller's identity will remain secret. The sketches were made with the assistance of several eyewitnesses and they are the eyes and ears of Delhi Police," Bhagat added while releasing the sketches.
