New Delhi/Jammu: At least three militants, taking the shadow of heavy cross border firing at Kanachak area, 28 kilometers from Jammu, managed to enter into the country today. The Border Security Force officials are suspecting the Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) behind the cross-firing.
Additional Deputy Inspector General J D Sangwan, posted in Jammu, told Headlines India over phone that the cross border firing that began at 12:30 am on Tuesday lasted for at least one-and-a-half hours. "The way firing was operated, it appears to be the handwork of ISI. During the exchange of firing, the militants managed to cut the fencing and they have managed to enter inside. The search operation for the infiltrated militants has been intensified," informed ADIG Sangwan.
Firing was also made from across the border at 10th Post of Akhnoor sector. Though, Sangwan told that none of the jawans was reported injured but sources informed that a BSF jawan has sustained bullet injury on his hand. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defence has refused to comment on this issue.
