Mumbai: Soumitra Ranade director Jajantaram Mamantaram is coming back with two more animated films. His last film Jajantaram Mamantaram was screened at The Cannes Film Festival and International Children's Film Festival in Hyderabad, 2003. Now he is starting work on Janantaram Manantram 2.
His forthcoming film is Friend's Forever. An Animator, Soumitra has used an animated character Zampano who plays the cupid between two artistes. His other film is 100 per cent animation film 'Alibaba- the 41 thieves'.
Soumitra Ranade has done his Diploma in Cinema Direction from Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). Earlier he had done his B A from Sir J J Institute of Applied Arts. He won Gold Medal for the best work. This was also selected for the Ashok Jain Awards for National Awareness Advertising Exhibition held all over India in 1984. He had Specialized in Illustration and Graphic Design. For him a film can not be conceived without use of FX and Animation.
