New Delhi: At a time when NDA is seeking "more friends", BJP have strongly objected to the premise of the saffron party being "enemy no.1". "The BJP condemns the language of BJP being enemy no. 1 being employed by some leaders of the Samajwadi Party to justify their opportunism," party spokesperson Ravi Shanker Prasad told reporters in Capital on Friday. The saffron party claimed that "the concept" was against the essence of the healthy democratic norms.
"We reject the whole concept of anyone being enemy in the democratic and political civil society of India as it goes against the very essence of healthy democratic norms in a vibrant democracy like ours," Prasad said. The party claimed that the NDA under its leadership was on a success "march" and it was impossible for anyone political combination to "stop" them.
"Neither the Congress, nor the Left, nor the Samajwadi Party or other anti NDA political forces have been able to stop this march, nor would ever succeed because the BJP enjoys substantial support of the people of India," he added. He alleged that the new formation in the Centre and the efforts to save the government were due to the fact the most parties with UPA "were mighty afraid of facing the election."
The BJP is confident that the people of India have seen through their "(UPA and its supporters) games" and would serve severe punishment to them in the coming polls, he claimed. (PTI)
